I'm still not entirely convinced, mainly because many of the things you mention seem so stupid to me that I HOPE they aren't true. Larfleeze going after Santa would be the death knell for that character, as far as I am concerned, or even doing something as ridiculous as stealing the Eiffel Tower. If that is REALLY the direction they are going with that character, then the New Guardians' continued presence in the main title (which IS true, I have no doubt, given the solicits we have seen) is going to become wearying VERY fast. And any kind of notion of Atrocitus being romantically attracted to Mera, other than a very minor one-liner tossed in once for humor, would also strike me as annoying.

And as I said before, I have a VERY hard time believing we will really get "the rest of the new Laws" at this point, since the concept of them was completely changed from their first introduction up to now, from being a pre-meditated whole, to being obviously reactionary measures composed and implemented on the fly.

So yeah, I will admit that it is POSSIBLE that your report is 100% true. But some of it seems unlikely, and some of it seems so ridiculous as to be undesirable, IMHO, and I have yet to see convincing confirmation of any of those aspects.

Of course, given Old School's attempts to preempt any April Fools joke by you, perhaps you have taken the subtle route this time, COUNTING on people disbelieving you, and then reporting on the most unlikely TRUE things you can find, thus fooling people into disbelieving them. That, while not quite as epic as previous forays, would certainly be plenty devious. And if true, you snared me.

Of course, if all this IS true, I forsee quite a bit of disappointment for me in upcoming months of GL.

PopcultureZoo confirmed the most outrageous thing on the list(Larfleeze/Xmas) but said Geoff may or may not have been joking.

Man, I HOPE so. I mean, the character has really degraded from his introduction already, but this would be the final nail in the coffin.

Wasn't he killed by Lobo in the 90's? I don't remember how that story ended, I remember Santa getting his ass kicked and eyeball knocked out.

Geoff didn't imply there really is a Santa Claus in the story... just that Larfleeze catches wind of the idea of Santa Claus and decides to hunt for him.

Exactly. Also why do things need to be so serious all the time with all the charcaters. Are they not allowed to be funny sometimes?? Could you imagine, How the 'Fleeze stole Christmas
I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

Things don't need to be serious all the time, but how am I supposed to take this character as a threat when the only thing out of his mouth are ignorant one line remarks? They baited and switched us on Agent Orange.

                    • I guess...but therein lies the problem. Larfleeze was hyped up to seem like he was going to be this major badass in the comics and so far it has been seen all that much if at all. I honestly wasnt expecting much from Larfleeze. I mean come on...everytime they asked GJ about Larfleeze he kept referring to him as a dirty muppet. Obviously he is more of a comic relief character than anything else. At least that was kind of what I started seeing him as.

Somebody has to be. Especially if he's to be part of the New Guardians union.

                        • How is it comic relief when Hal, Carol and even Atrocitus throw zingers every issue?

                          • What I'm saying is that it seems that that is his main purpose. I like Larfleeze the way he is. He is a nightmarishly. cartoonish kind of character who is highly unstable and unpredictable which IMO makes him great. We have enough bad asses I think we can live with one less.

                            • When Larfleeze was initially introduced as Agent Orange, I also thought he'd be a badass as Atrocitus; a force to be dealt with. He looked creepy and very powerful. I don't mind what Larfleeze evolved into.

Interesting that there won't be a Green Lantern on Smallville.

                              • Larfleeze reminds me of Santino Marella in WWE. You can't take anything seriously coming from him.

As far as the spoilers list on the first page: Twixth truth and madness lies but a sliver of a stream.

Some of that stuff looks like truth but quite a bit seems like April Fool's fodder... I mean come on! Santa Claus and Larfleeze?!? I wouldn't pick that up if they gave it away on Free Comic day... Well, maybe for free.

If Firestorm really is a big part of Brightest Day, it's starting to look up for the series. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Ronnie and Jason now that Gen is salt blowing in the breeze. Jason probably doesn't want anything to do with Ronnie and the Firestorm matrix... even if Gen's death was the work of the Black ring. If they somehow work through it, imagine how powerful they'd be together. Their power would now work on organics.
