Secret Identity

Let's say that tomorrow, while you're completely alone, the ring of your choice came to you. You have a choice between having a secret identity or being public about your power. Which would you choose?
I'd probably keep it a secret, mainly because if word got out to foreign nations that I had a ring that could wipe out their weapon systems, they'd try to kill me. And eventually, I'd run out of charge, and an all-out nuclear exchange would kill me.
Plus the usual crap - protecting friends and family, etc.
What about you guys?

I'd be public, probably, but keep a secret identity.

I guess it would depend on the Ring.

If a GL ring choose me, I'd be a public figure in the name of good.

However, after taking the Ring Personality quiz, it looks like I would get an Orange Ring. In that case, I'd keep hidden, going around collecting the things I want in secret.

Unless you want the ring's spectrum altering your personality, I don't see why anyone would want a ring other than Green or Blue (maybe Indigo). They all do the same thing, it's just the non-Green ones influence you.

We don't technically know that yet. That they all do the same thing.

Besides, if I had an Orange Ring, I probably wouldn't feel guilty about being greedy.

the only way for U to keep a stable peace of mind w/o changing yur life too much from wat it is currently (aside from having a Ring natch) would be to keep yur ID secret.

THAT BEING SAID I prolly work things out by never allowing myself to be seen; Id just be invisible ALL the time so I can avoid any issues, and possibly restore some measure of *faith* into ppl that have lost theirs.

And on second thought, I don't think it would matter much cuz as soon as I got a ring I'd get the hell of this planet and go explore.

btw- how messed up would it be to recieve a Ring, but no battery to recharge it once its energy is drained?? that would really SUCK in my eyes.

Well, King said nothing about Guardians or any of that stuff, and I'm assuming we're talking about our real world.

So yeah, I mean, with that much power, I doubt most people wouldn't elevate themselves to a God-like status. Who could possibly stop you ever? No military could ever defeat you, and surely no single person could stop you. Talking about Ring Charges is one thing, but then again, I never understood why the GLs don't carry their Lantern around everywhere they go anyway. That would never be a problem with me.

He'll yeah I'd be God, and probably act a lot like him too .

I'd do a secret id, but yeah I'd be in the public eye, that be quite the ego boost to hear people talk about you, and they wouldn't even know it was you.
