Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars will be reformed into the First Galactic Entertainment Empire! For safe, and secure, media entertainment

I was pretty freaked out when I first found out but now I'm hyped for 2015, Disney has generally left Marvel alone and has brought in talent to make incredible movies, everyone thought they'd screw things up and it's been business as usual, with the pleasant addition of The Avengers and sequels galore to follow. I think this could go down very well if it's done right.

Ironcially I think the problem here is Lucas, he could've gotten a bit more from Disney for LucasArts and I worry how much control over the new trilogy he's arranged to retain. As Doc said, Disney is in this to make money and if they can do that by making it family friendly, they'll probably try it

I think Plastroncafe and Andrea are the only ones seeing the bigger picture here, and that is the rat has another company under its belt, infact more than one including the Sound and Graphic ILM teams, that's massive, that means Disney will be pretty much be helping everyone make movies.

How long before the big one, where Disney buys Time Warner? I mean they might as well just own everything right? I don't know why but for some reason I wouldn't be surprised to see Disney buy Nintendo in the future(yeah I'm not convinced that company has good direction for the future), mostly for Mario but all the rest too, whatever the case, I don't think Lucasfilm will be Disney's last shocking purchase.

New Star Wars movies can go either way, will have to wait and see on that.

2015 looking good then, Avengers 2, JLA, Star Wars 7, and I have a very strong feeling about daredevil reboot. Please let there be a daredevil reboot. If the punisher gets 3 films and rumours of a reboot in 2014, please let there be daredevil 2!

I hope the clone wars is gone soon, it's so corny. Don't like it at all. Fine, there were a few good episodes (the lair of grevious was brilliant) but apart from a few good episodes, it was crap. I just bloack it from my mind and pretend it's not part of the star wars universe just like I do with SJA in the dr who universe. As for a live action TV show, I am up for that. I think it'll work well. A space opera would be cool! With shows like Smallville and Arrow, Diseny should join that market with star wars.

                      LMBO. Nice.

I'd be on board with a DD reboot or sequel too. I know the '03 film didn't hit a grand slam at the box office, but I thought it did well enough for a 2nd try.

                      • I think daredevil 03 is far to underated. Everyone I know (who I've asked) likes it and only has positive things to say about it. I think we're past a sequel now, the suit's already starting to look a bit silly now (although I still like it) and everyone's aged. Besides, the dude who played Kingpin died anyway, and Ben Afleck does not want to go for round 2. It's better to have a reboot now, or just make a sequel with a new cast. Either way, if it's a daredevil film in anyway, I'm well up for it!

I'd also love to see a marvel zombies film at some point. Seeing more and more unique and risky films like the avengers have been done, I think marvel zombies would be the next step to unique films. Thoughts?

                        • Director and comic freak Kevin Smith posted on his facebook page that he's all for, Cause now he can finally get the rest of the series that Lucas promises after "New Hope"

Which I agree, and let's face it, after the mediocrity of the last three. George needs to step back and let someone else take control.

Don't get me wrong, 1-3 (or 4-6 depending how you want to look at it) had some great scenes in it, namely the fight scenes, (I personally feel the Darth Mual/Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon was the best. although the fight between Darth Tyranus and Yoda was good.)
But the over storyline was flat, even if the over-all plot was brilliant. And the acting a bit pushed.

I'm going to keep an open mind about it. At least it would give us a good idea how they are going to handle the Marvel movies since Mickey now owns Marvel studios.

                          • I thought revenge of the sith was awesome. That was my favourate one followed by return of the jedi. I thought episode 1 was ok, but borderline, and attack of the clones was in the middle with some great scenes, bit quite a few disapointing ones. Over all, I think episode 2 and 1 are the worst two, but 3 was definately the best. I think George Lucus definately deserves something big to do with the next star wars as he's the guy who created it.

90% or so of what the mouse has put out in the last ten years has made lots of money and has had some pretty good movies, yeah there's an occasional stinker bit everyone has those.

People seem to be forgetting that Disney and star wars have been entwined for the last 20 years. From star tours rode at the Parks to the exclusive toys and star wars weekends. Disney has done more to keep star wars relevant than Lucas really ever did.
