If Palpatine survives, that kind of makes the Epic Journey of Anakin that Lucas insisted the first six movies were all about kind of pointless. One of the worst things about the EU, IMHO, was the notion that the Emperor survived in various clones.

they need to create a whole new list of sith. i remember the rumored title for this movie was called the ancient fear and i know its probably fake but i like the sound of that because they can indroduce a ancient sith brand spanking new since the eu we know and love isnt canon.

i kind of want them to do what the 99 mummy film did like this scene here

Okay, Dark Horse cannot re-publish already published comics, or sell them digitally starting with 2015. However your already owned comics will remain in the cloud (Dark Horse needs to go DRM-free!).

Marvel may also sell individual titles under their own banner if they buy them from Dark Horse (the same thing that Dark Horse did with the original Marvel series).

To conclude, buy everything until end of the year or Marvel may put a lid on it.

And Dark Horse will close all open storylines for their arcs.

In Germany (and other European countries) nothing changes though as Panini is publishing Marvel, DC and Star Wars (as well as some other but not all Dark Horse) comics.


For now Disney will only publish comics and e-books within the established canon and not touch the future EU so they actually include some of the existing EU in their future endeavors.

I like the idea of bringing in Darth Plageius. Saying he cheated death beyond even Darth Sidious' knowledge (or with it, they could do it either way) does a couple of things.

First, it ties him directly into the mythology and helps expand it. It isn't a new guy claiming to be a Sith but an actual Sith who they can say is behind everything. It makes the mythology bigger. It ties the whole series together without really having to bring back elements of the prequels that fans hated.

He trumps what Sidious, Maul, Tyrannus, and Vader did merely by preceding it. That gives him decades to have been plotting and building while his apprentice was only appearing to be the biggest threat the galaxy has every faced.

He automatically is tied to the Skywalker generational tale by virtue of training the guy that corrupted Luke's father.

And finally they can write around that stupid tease about creating life by confirming that neither Plageius nor Sidious created Anakin.

I never got that vibe from Return of the Jedi. Yes, the immediate threat was gone, the mighty death star destroyed but the Empire fleet mainly remained intact. This was just the first step towards a new republic.
