i keep hearing star wars is only about anakins fall from grace and the skywalker twins. disney has a huge opertunity to bank on the solo twins as a franchise and continue forward with the saga mythology. hell i got my head ripped off for suggesting maybe even use some of the eu names like a bastila shan and make a whole new jedi out of that. it dosent have to be bastila from kotor. same with kyp durron from the novelsOriginally posted by Mister Ed View PostI think his point was that there WAS no "need" to have a 7th film. I'd tend to agree. That doesn't mean I won't watch it, though.

I very much doubt that Disney will be doing squat diddly with "the Solo twins". I suppose it is possible, but given how clear they seem to have been about not being beholden to the established EU, I'd be VERY surprised. I expect they want a clean break, at least as far as "EU Main Characters" go.

well shit if they dont want eu hell create all new charachters dont just hang onto the past with vader or palpatine because it makes me feel like they have no creative ideas and just rehash what was already told before.Originally posted by Mister Ed View PostI very much doubt that Disney will be doing squat diddly with "the Solo twins". It's called bridging the gap. Bringing in characters that the old fans will be drawn to while creating new fans to carry the movies forward. Luke, leia and Han will most likely only be in 7 and that's to set up the next movies.

Oh, I'm with you there. I don't want to see Vader or Palpatine showing up, and I don't want the big bad guy, whoever it turns out to be, to have an evil plan involving creating some superweapon that the heroes have to blow up.Originally posted by TazzMission View Postwell shit if they dont want eu hell create all new charachters dont just hang onto the past with vader or palpatine because it makes me feel like they have no creative ideas and just rehash what was already told before.

thats why i feel darth plagueis is the best choice because 1. he exists in the current mythology and 2. we never seen him on screen and he was only referenced by name . i mean if we think back to the legend palpatine tells anakin about cheating death it make more sense to bring him into the franchise.Originally posted by Mister Ed View PostOh, I'm with you there. No, because Kenobi's was blue even as an old man and he was a master. Ditto Anakin's pre-Sith saber. Luke only constructs a green saber because he lost his father's blue one (though given what we see in the prequels I like to think he chose green to honor his then-dead teacher, Yoda).Originally posted by TazzMission View Postagreed and also shouldnt the color represent the skill of its user? if i remember correctly blue was just for padawans wile green was for masters. id like to see them expand jedi rankings a bit...

but dont you think its just kind of bizzare that there are only 3 colors in existence in the star wars movie universe for the light sabers? im not suggesting they go crazy and just do a shit load of them but some new colors wouldnt hurt. i am strongly for gold , black and white.Originally posted by Space Cop View PostNo, because Kenobi's was blue even as an old man and he was a master. I suppose there could be explanations for that (certain colors are more popular or the crystal is easier to obtain), but yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing some other issues. I liked seeing the purple.Originally posted by TazzMission View Postbut dont you think its just kind of bizzare that there are only 3 colors in existence in the star wars movie universe for the light sabers? im not suggesting they go crazy and just do a shit load of them but some new colors wouldnt hurt. i am strongly for gold , black and white.
