    • September 4th is Force Friday. Retailers are pulling the old SW merch off shelves and setting up new stuff to be released at midnight.

The outfit reminds me of one of the dudes from the original 1979 Battlestar Galactica.

So what do you guys think overall about SW figures? Will values go up, down, or stay the same?

I meant value as in what figures are worth (not pricing).

Like, do you think some of the figures released in the last 15 or so years will increase in value now that an entirely new figure family is about to be released?

nope i really dont think so since now we are expecting to have a star wars film every year wich means new merchandise for those films i really do believe the market for star wars will take a huge dive and maybe the collectors market for it will crash badly plus just because something may be worth a good chunk of money it dosent mean anybody will pay that price tag. its not giving anything to breath organicly and i guarantee most figs will be peg warmers

                • I think, IF they make new figures for the original movies, that prices on any old figures that are reproduced will likely go down. Maybe not a lot, but the more figures are available at retail prices, the fewer people there are who will care about the collector value of having the older ones, and will be happy with the newer, less expensive retail prices for the same character.

That's just my uneducated thoughts on the issue, though. Somebody who actually follows the collector's market will probably have a much better idea of how this stuff works.

                  • I think only vintage SW figures will continue to be worth any money. Everything from the 90s up is still collecting dust at comic shops.

                        • I'm sure collectors will be all over the new figures and retailers will raise prices. I stopped collecting Star Wars figures when the prices rose from $5 to $7.

I'll just be window shopping the new figures.

In a few months, that buyer will be kicking himself when he sees every toy store littered with Kylo RENs for ten or so bucks.
