He was at a comic show my son and I went to today. I got an autograph photo of him and talked to him for a few minutes. I didn't drag it out because he honestly looked exhausted. I told him he was one of my heroes as a kid and thanked him which he has heard a million times. Had him sign the photo to Dave and Jordan. It was very nice. Jordan pretty much stood there with his jaw hanging open the whole time.

I saw him at a con once and could've met him, but decided to meet James Doohan instead (only had so much money and time). Since I consider myself much more of a Trekkie than an SW fan and since Doohan has since passed, I don't regret it.Originally posted by Big Daddy Dave Skywalker View PostMy son and I met Billy Dee Williams today!
But I wouldn't mind meeting the guy who played Harvey Dent in the 89 Batman.

What was he charging? The bigger the show, the more he charges for photo-ops and autographs. The last time I saw him, he wasn't moving around too well. I kind of regret not getting something from him when I saw him at a local toy show about a year ago. I think what swayed me was him not taking off his sunglasses for photos. Perhaps he was drinking Colt 45 the night before and his eyes were still red.Originally posted by Big Daddy Dave Skywalker View PostHe was at a comic show my son and I went to today. He was charging 50 bucks for an autograph on one of his 8x10s. I'm not an autograph hound at all but I couldn't help myself.
And he didn't look good, almost out of it. They brought him to and from the table in a wheelchair, which I saw later on. He got out of the wheelchair and walk behind the table but he just looked wiped out. My son felt really bad about that and I explained to him that the man is going on 80.

I've see Billy a few times at conventions, most recently at Star Wars celebration and he had sunglasses on. I think he might be sensitive to light now at his age. Camera flashes might give him migraines.
Congrats Dave, to you and your son on getting to meet Lando.Last edited by Darth_Primus; 09-14-2015, 04:06 PM.You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!

Ah, so the choice of Doohan because of his health may have just postponed making the same choice again. Well, I wish him the best.Originally posted by Big Daddy Dave Skywalker View Post...And he didn't look good, almost out of it. I've met at least one celeb with that problem.Originally posted by Darth_Primus View PostI've see Billy a few times at conventions, most recently at Star Wars celebration and he had sunglasses on. I think he might be sensitive to light now at his age. Camera flashes might give him migraines...
