Hey guys,quick question- for those of you that ordered advanced tickets, did you pay an arm and a leg for them?

At dinner tonight, my aunt asked me if I would like a ticket as an early Xmas gift. I kind of laughed and told her I could afford a $10 ticket. Then she told me they were going for $100, and I damn near spit out my food.

I got 5 tickets for a 7pm showing at a Cinemagic on the 17th, I just couldn't get them for the imax screen. Paid regular price for them. Cold day in hell I'd shell out scalper money for them.

Of course, my aunt is not the most reliable source of information. Judging by what you guys said, she probably heard a story on the news about scalpers without understanding exactly what a scalper is. Haha

The Force Awakens Actors Want Dying Star Wars Fan To See Film Early


Daniel Fleetwood, a 32-year-old Star Wars fan with terminal cancer from Houston, Texas, might not live long enough to see Episode VII: The Force Awakens, when it comes out in theaters on December, but stars from the upcoming film have expressed their support to a Twitter campaign for Fleetwood get the chance to see the film early.

Fleetwood told KPRC 2 Houston (via Uproxx) "judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months, I really don’t think that I’ll be able to make it" until the film officially comes out on the night of December 17. The super fan has already surpassed the expectations of his doctors, who told him in July that he'd only have two months to live, but he wants to see the new movie before he passes away. He suffers from an aggressive, rare form of cancer called spindle cell sarcoma, which starts in the tissue under the skin or between organs, and can spread easily before being detected. "I just love Star Wars," he said. "With everything I got I love Star Wars.”

Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, and John Boyega, who plays Finn – an ex-Stormtrooper and one of the film's main characters – have lent their voices to the campaign for Fleetwood by retweeting the hashtag #ForceForDaniel, which is now trending on the social media platform:


leetwood, whose dying wish is to see The Force Awakens before its release, is in hospice care at home with his wife Ashley, who asked: "please do what you can. Help me.


Director JJ Abrams has a history of granting similar wishes. In 2013, he showed Daniel Craft a rough cut of Star Trek Into Darkness five months before it was released. Craft was terminally ill with cancer, and passed away after seeing the movie.
