It would be a nice touch if they not only let him see the movie, but filled him in on whatever plans they might already have for episodes 8 and 9, just to give him a vision of where it is all going.
It occurs to me that, with Star Wars as popular as it is, you could very likely fill a theater or two with people who really want to see it, but might not last that long. (Though many of them couldn't make it to a theater.)

I'm not sure I'd say it is insulting. It isn't like they'd be treating him any differently than anybody else that gets to see stuff early. I'm betting the entire cast and crew had to sign NDAs as well, so he'd be in good company.Comment

True, friend, and not just them- think of all the licensing companies they deal with that get designs from the new movie. Toys are usually planned out a year prior to release (give or take a few months), and it boggles my mind how there are so many people out there who know things about this movie that we do not.
