I wanted to watch A New Hope afterwards, but I got home pretty late from the theater and had to wake up a 5am for work the next morning, so make a short answer very long, nope.Originally posted by Space Cop View PostThat's the most positive response I've heard, which is cool (on the other hand, the worst I've heard so far is "meh," not "horrible").
Did you watch ANH again afterward?
My mother (who knows I'm a fan of the actor) just sent me an article [light spoiler] about the digitally-inserted Peter Cushing stuff, which has me curious. I hadn't heard they were doing that (not that I heard a whole lot about this movie).
Yeah, I watch the first trailer to Rogue One once and nothing else after that, I did not know that thing either until I watched the film. I thought it was pretty cool. It's one of the many things I felt that made R1 a seamless part of the original trilogy. I mean, there were quite a few nods and call backs to the original film that just made me go:
I watched the Chris Stuckmann (currently my favorite film reviewer) video review posted above of the R1, and I understand his comments regarding character development, but this film had a lot of characters and a lot of ground to cover, so they couldn't flesh out alot of the characters. I felt the character development was just enough to fit the story.
Stuckmann like The Force Awakens better than R1 because of the character development, but unlike TFA, R1 is a retread story (plot point wise) like TFA was. It's its own story. And because of that, I like R1 better. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!

^Thanks for the thoughts. I think I get why R1 could appeal more to you and others than TFA. Since I didn't like TFA, I'm certainly hoping that's the case with me.
After I posted my question, I thought "wait a minute, he went to the midnight premier, of course he didn't have time to watch Star Wars too."
As to Stuckman, he did note that he actually liked R1. His spoilery review is up now (as is Cinemassacre's), but I'll wait to watch that. I actually got into Stuckman's stuff because of his Hilariocity reviews (which are still my favorite of his segments).Last edited by Space Cop; 12-17-2016, 05:23 PM.

I was going to see it again yesterday, but we got hit with 8" of snow here in NH. I elected to stay home and watch Planet Of The Apes documentaries all day.
Looks like we are going to see it at 3pm today. Not in imax, but in town at the crappy local theater. Going to try to run right home and pop in ANH immediately after.

I'm planning on seeing R1 again this Friday on an IMax screen, but I have to finish the Christmas shopping first.
I still having seen ANH again. However, I debating on whether or not to watch the original VHS version or the HD special edition of the film. Watching the VHS version would mean hooking up my VCR and watching the cropped "full screen" format of the film. I think I may have the a letter box format too somewhere around the house, which means more work in looking for it.You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude.
