Definitely the GL weapon. I agree I'd rather have it without yellow weakness, but I'd also rather have the 24-hour charge since it's easier to be safe (you could recharge it every hour and then right before a battle and you'd be covered for almost as long as your body would hold out).

A new entry:
The Dominator (aka Portable Psychology Diagnostic and Suppression System) from the 2012 anime "Psycho-Pass".

The Dominator is a high-tech weapon only usable in a high-tech environment with special circumstances. First, the weapon is data-linked by radio frequency to a supercomputer running the city it is used in. This lets the supercomputer (the Sybil System) authorize firing of the weapon by scanning the DNA/fingerprint/handprint of the person wielding it. The weapon uses bone conduction and lasers for the Sybil System to communicate to the user both vocally and with an eyes-in holographic display for targeting and firing. This allows the gun to calmly direct the firer to aim and trigger the weapon, and the voice will only be heard by the wielder. Second, the gun has four modes, based upon the Psycho-Pass, or biometric scanning of the (human) target's mental state. At levels of Psycho-Pass less than "100" the target is not identified as being viable for apprehension, and the gun will not fire.

At levels between 101 and 200, the Dominator reconfigures to Paralyzer mode, unfolding into an energy weapon capable of delivering several thousand volts of electric shock by wireless pulse.
At Psycho-Pass, or Crime Coefficient levels higher than 201, the Dominator unfolds and expands into Lethal Eliminator mode. This fires an electromagnetic pulse extremely damaging to organic tissue, causing rapid expansion and explosion, usually resulting in the death, or at the very least, incapacitating lethal damage to the target.
The Dominator also has a Destroy Decomposer mode for non-organic targets.

There are a number of problems with the Dominator. First, it will not fire if it can not communicate with the Sibyl System. So if you're not in cell phone reception range, the gun locks and refuses to fire. Second, the Dominator is meant only to work on humans and the occasional robot or cyborg. Third, if the target person's Crime Coefficient is too low for whatever reason, the gun refuses to fire. (All these issues are being shown as part of the plot of the anime TV series.) The police using the Dominators can fire on each other if their Crime Coefficient is higher than the allowed amount, leading to some interesting situations. I've also never seen the Dominator fired more than six times in succession, indicating a low battery capacity.
But the Dominator is a cool weapon in that it talks to the user, provides an eyes-in display, and can "only be fired in defense", similar to the Weapon Shops guns of A.E. Van Vogt's The Weapon Shops of Isher. I can see taking the technology of the Dominator and reverse-engineering it to be a more user-friendly weapon. A "free" weapon with a more limited A.I. and trigger/switch changing modes.

Leeloo from The Fifth Element; the Supreme Being, and the universe's ultimate weapon against evil. A weapon that looks like Milla Jovovich and you can sleep with (well, if you're Corbin Dallas)?

Gotta go with the lightsaber. A sleek and elegant weapon.
But the Sun Crusher would have been my second choice. nothing like a Super WMD to screw up a planetary system's day.

Time now to expand my list with a few things I forgot!Originally posted by Jack T. Chance View PostHere's my picks for this... in order...- The Infinity Gauntlet (Marvel Comics)

One glove + 6 little gems = You Are God! Omnipotent, omniscient, with complete and total control over EVERYTHING in the universe! (Just don't let those pesky Earth heroes distract you long enough for one of them to snatch the Infinity Gauntlet from your hand.
) - Yellow Power Ring (pre-Sinestro Corps)!

All of the power, but no pesky blue midgets telling you what to do with it!
- The Lens (Lensman novels by E. E. "Doc" Smith)

This amazing device, the product of the ancient alien race known as the Arisians, is usually worn on the wrist like a wristwatch. It provides the wearer with perfect, instantaneous telepathic communication (even over vast, interstellar distances) and unlocks the full potential of its wearer's mind, giving them incredible mental powers including, but not limited to, telekinesis and the ability to kill with a mere thought! Having a different effect on each individual that wears it (as the powers granted are as unique as the mind of the being wearing the Lens,) the Lens has almost limitless potential! - Jedi Lightsaber (Star Wars) or Covenant Energy Sword (Halo)

Because it's all about the one-hit kills, baby!
- Federation Phaser Pistol (Star Trek)

The ULTIMATE ray gun! Mess with me, and you're getting stunned! Mess with me some more, and you wake up in a world of hurt! REALLY piss me off, and I'll VAPORIZE YOU, so there won't even be a body for the authorities to find!!! Who cares if it's not entirely scientifically plausible for it to do all the things it does, I still want one!
I'd be perfectly happy with any of those!

This...

turns into this...

A car is not a weapon!
"Vehicular homicide" aside, I wish to keep this discussion to primarily hand-held weapons, with vehicles (and larger) second. Otherwise everyone's going to want a Death Star instead of a Green Lantern Power Ring.

*AHEM!* The rest of the thread would seem to disagree with you about vehicles...Originally posted by jhpace1 View PostFoul!

Now how do you like THEM apples?Originally posted by chivalrous View Post
TARDIS in general, not just the Doctor's - considering the rest would have working Chameleon circuits.
Oh, and I remembered another one for my list...- A Conversion Beam Projector, or "Beamer", for short, from the First Edition of Warhammer 40,000. Some of you played 1st Edition and are laughing maniacally along with me, while the rest have to get on their Google Machines and look it up!
