I obviously haven't had to deal with anything THIS egregious, but I can say from personal experience that it is extremely demoralizing to have a manager side with a customer against an employee when the customer is clearly in the wrong. I can only imagine how much worse it is when they do so in a situation like this. I sincerely hope that Olive Garden let this manager go because what they did was wrong, and not just because it led to bad PR.

White Olive Garden customer loudly complains and demands nonblack server, and manager immediately complies
I normally keep my browsing of this board to when-I'm-awake hours, but this shit is so awful I'm making an exception this morning.

It is worth pointing out that it isn't that girls wrestling isn't recognized by the state High School Athletic Association because they don't think girls should wrestle. It isn't recognized because the sport hasn't hit the threshold of participants statewide to receive official recognition. It sounds like it is the same way they would handle recognition of a new sport for EITHER gender.
I don't see this as all that much of an outrage, frankly. The school has made it clear that they DO want to recognize her, but that the banners they hang in the gym are all part of the official state High School Athletics Association program.
I imagine this title came with a trophy or medal or plaque or something? I'm betting that the school has a trophy case. I'll save my outrage for when they refuse to display the reward for this accomplishment in that location.

Who else is tired of hearing about how some crime or other "doesn't reflect who I am?"
Oh yes this crime does reflect who this woman is. She was born filthy rich and always had the attitude instilled in her that her money could get her anything she wanted.
That's exactly who she is.
Besides that, her children will be so rich that it doesn't matter which college they go to, or even whether they go. As someone has said, all these rich people engaged in bribery so they'd have have something more to brag about.

I have to wonder why the word racism is in quotes in that headline.

I think having such a stringent weight requirement is extremely dumb, but given that they have it at all, it makes sense that being over by ANY amount would be grounds for dismissal. Otherwise, why not just make the cutoff a little bit higher? I think that focusing on how close she was to the cutoff (as the article seems to do) misses the point of the outrage. The outrage isn't that they let her go when she was so close, the outrage is that they have such a stringent policy at all.

this isn't so much OUTRAGEOUS, inasmuch as it is PRETTY MESSED UP....but I thought it worth the share anyways: https://www.news.com.au/travel/trave...1998d9045ba372

This is truly a charming group of folks. I noticed that they're selling meth now. They used to sell heroin, and were known to many of their non-fans as the "Heroin Brotherhood." Maybe their pipelines for heroin have been cut off.
