I wouldnt say his ego had much to do with it. It wasnt like people got up and asked any GL questions to him. Not to mention they took those before he came out. All they asked him about was The Flaming C which he was there to "promote" the "new" movie.I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. Showed a fake trailer for it. No date set for it at all and I honestly think the trailer was the only kind of animation they did for it.I LOVE conspiracy theorists. I think the Flaming C trailer was just a goof made specifically for the SDCC. The idea originally spawned when Timm was on Conan's show and they made up a character on the spot as a gag.
As far as the line in that mini museum, I think Conan was there for a signing. In addition, I believe they were handing out free Flaming C capes and oven mitts.

Bruce Timm's style looks weird in 3D. I think the problem is that he's using 2D style character designs for a 3D show.
See, in traditional animation, character designs are kept as simple as possible so that it is easier to draw them again and again, frame after frame. In CGI, however, you create just one character model and the computer will automatically redraw it frame after frame to fit the motions you program it to do. Thus, in 3D movies characters are often far more detailed than their 2D counterparts are. Heck, if you look closely at the posters for the Smurfs movie, you can actually see body hair and veins. I understand the GL cartoon is just a TV show, but surely they could have spent a little extra time giving some texture to Kilowog's skin.
