Take this picture for example, It came out what about a month ago? Look closely at the chest, if you dont see it look again.

The lines that people are complaining about are there. The mask design is there, but now that people see it on a photo rather than drawing theres a big brouhaha.

We all saw what was coming, we just didnt pay alot of attention to it.
so people got all pissy because they didnt take the time to actually research? all i can say is for me i hope this film does great and who knows maybe this will be better than fox's deadpool

          • This movie is going to make or break Green Lantern for the mass public. I thought that it would atleast look as cool as the one from the DC vs Mortal Kombat game. I want Green Lantern to have a real chance of being as popular as other mainstream heroes, but I don't believe that will happen with that Green Bacon looking thing on.

I know many of you are thinking. Hey that's is hollywoods way, just accepet it. I can't with movie prices as high as they have become especially now with the 3D revolution. I won't settle for crap like that. Hollywood is not going to stop dissapointing us if we keep accepting what ever they put in front of us. Pleasu think about that long and hard before you let that awful costume grow on you, like that meat costume did on poor Mr.Reynolds.

            • Actually, now that I have had time to digest the image, it is growing on me. I am still not happy with the mask looking like it was photoshopped on, but at least they got the symbol and a domino mask right! I can live with the ribs and swirls and lack of white gloves. I am sure, once we see it in action and they still have several months to enhance the CGI (perhaps due to feedback from us? ) that it will be awesome!

                The mask is different.

Also the lines on this poster are more straight than they are on the coverpic. I still think that the cover shows the suit on the latter stage of the transformation process( in that case it looks awesome), but not the finalized suit.

                      • We have to think of this... and I am not currently won over by the movie costume...but I am staying optomistic. They had to re-imagine or re-invent the costume for the movie because if they stayed true to the comic, the costume probably would have looked silly on screen. It would have to have been done in some type of leather material and that doesn't really make sense. How silly would it have looked with GL running around in spandex? I can see where they are coming from in thinking " How does this make sense in a "real world" scenario?" It will all depend on how it plays on screen.. with movement. The bottom line is it must look cool . If movie goers do not buy into the suit and want to wear one, then it will be an epic fail. If people leave wanting to be GL, then the movie makers have achieved what will be needed to make the movie a success. I remember walking out of the first Spiderman movie wishing I were him. I guess we all have to separate the comic from the movie to an extent, and view things on a brand new level. It is probably not to our advantage to be fans of GL, because they are "tinkering" with a dear property to us and it is in our nature to be critical. I do give the producers credit for at least trying something new. It is to be seen how they pull it off.

                        • I've shown it to a few "non-GL-fans" who've seen the comic version, so far they'e all loved it. And again, I say that I think the costume is closer to the comics than most of you think.
