I'm at work and can't watch it but here's a video review by a mother and son. No clue what they even say so proceed with caution.

I gotta say, I'm gonna feel a little betrayed if this is a "kid's movie." I think it's fine if it's for kids TOO - if it's not too violent or dark or cerebral - Pixar and Dreamworks have showed that you can make a movie for kids without talking down to anyone. But if it ends up being designed ONLY for kids, I think that would be surprising and a mistake and a betrayal to the fan base.

Maybe there were only kids there, but this guy reported, that at the end of the LA screening ppl were applauding.

Translation:At the screening of Green Lantern, the people [in the audience] applauded at the end... good sign.

Well, I liked Thor, but I thought it was actually pretty "grown up" - lots of personal dynamics playing into the plot more than action. I was hoping this would be more of a smart thrill ride that didn't patronize anyone, but also isn't dark and heavy.Originally posted by InterestingJohn View PostI don't think it's a "kid's" movie, but I also don't think it's deep and heavy, like the dark knight. I think it'll end up being somewhere in the Thor territory, where there's lots of mythology, and it's explained in a way that everyone can understand (including kids).
I guess we'll see...

I put very little stock in what a mom and her son on youtube have to say (especially since she's a self-proclaimed "film buff"... i.e. pretentious)Originally posted by Muthasucka View PostWell, I liked Thor, but I thought it was actually pretty "grown up" - lots of personal dynamics playing into the plot more than action. Looks like the mom had some preconceived notions about Ryan Reynolds and the film. I won't be watching her review now. The hate starts around 21:24.

Yeah, she clearly doesn't like Ryan as a man or an actor :\ And clearly doesn't understand what kind of an actor Ryan is. Perspective fail. In that podcast, they basically talk about how he's not that smart, basically just a pretty face, not much "going on" between his ears (and other top stars). They've clearly never seen the man in an interview, he's incredibly sharp and witty, much more so than a lot of guys his age in Hollywood. Their ignorance is blinding to them. Morons.Last edited by InterestingJohn; 06-08-2011, 06:41 PM.
