agreed, but then again the director IIRC has stated it would be diff in concept & less comic book-y compared to the previous films...... /shrug

Right because movie studios NEVER do that kind of thing.

Seriously if that's on the complaint list for you there is literaly nothing this trailer could've done to make you like this movie because your mind was already made up.

      • Yup. The story will make or break this movie. Not the tone or the lighting. The story. I fully expect it to be like X-Men: First Class. Not the story we're used to but a good story with great characters and a decent but not great box office.

I know right?!? Fuck Fox for daring to use the license they paid money for! Fuck them for deciding to do what's in their best interests! Fuck them for not giving Marvel back the license for literally no reason!

If you can't see what's wrong with that line of thinking then there's no hope for you.

Relax, Hypo, no need to come rushing to the rescue of the movie trailer. It's just a nitpick.

Not entirely unfounded, I remember the flack First Class caught before it made it to theaters. Time will tell, I suppose...

Well, I mean... c'mon, it's Fox studios. Joking aside, you're right; granted, the property was dealt away before there was any semblance of an MCU on the horizon, but still this could be counted as more Marvel's fault for not holding on to it. But then, they probably needed the money, and...

Ugh, I'm explaining myself in circles for one guy who already knows all this and another guy who has me on his ignore list. Why do I even bother?

                  • I like the teaser trailer for Fantastic Four and the direction/tone of the film, which is the total opposite of the Jessica Alba flicks. Since Reed Richards is the leader of the team, I like it reflects him.

Additionally, I was relieved that the film wasn't shot in "found footage"/shaky cam. I hate that style.

I didn't have high expectations for the film, and I still don't but the teaser looks promising.

                      • What is also promising about the F4 flick is hearing the movie was inspired by films like Scanners and The Fly; dark, creepy and wonderful scifi flicks.

oh damn, dont let DP hear that; that kid will bust a nut over its grim/dark -ness.

but seriously, it should be interesting to see if the fanbase or G.A. will accept an FF-adaptation mired in that type of movie conception....

Or maybe Marvel should've put more effort and talent into a book that debuted inside the top 10 and was out of the top 50 by issue #3.
