    Aaarrgghh!!!!
The second half of the series has been more about the JSA than the entire first half. In the first six issues we see the older Johnny Thunder a bit but that's it. This last issue begins detailing how Doc M wiped away the existence of the Society but apparently J. Thunder still remembers. I would assume when Jay Garrick is rescued from the Speed Fore he will too.

Alan Scott never living to found the JSA caused most of the changes to history.

I read the latest issue, just for "fun." Man, that's some ghastly writing. Every other page it's like Geoff patting himself on the back for being so clever.

"Veidt, you lied about your cancer???" Oh wow, so clever.

I refuse to buy any Watchmen related stories after the 12 issue mini series. DC never should have touched the characters after it ended. For me there's no before or after Watchmen. Just the 12 issue self contained story. Anything else is a cash grab milking.

And god damn it if the JSA returns in this I'll have to break that promise I made myself.

Ditto. I'm torn between my collecting need to get every GL appearance since Flashpoint and my strong distaste for those who would use a perfectly complete story like Watchmen. I've already shocked my teenage self by washing my hands of Disney Star Wars, but now to have to choose between my love of GL or my respect for a work of art is just too much.

Can't judge a series based on one issue smack in the middle of a storyline. Seeing Doc M show up without the six issues of build up is like fast forwarding to the part of a superhero movie where the hero puts their costume on for the first time.

Just throwing this out there... pick up issue #7 of Watchmen and disregard everything from the first six issues. You're left with two retired superheroes trying to bang with the guy pretending to be Batman having ED. By the end of the issue he's a superhero again and bangable.

Man, what's that say about Alan Moore and what he wants out of comics...? LOL

They're going to. And hopefully the Legion as well.

When I went into the series I didn't see it as "Watchmen in the DCU". I saw it as "Rated R DCU". I'm not reading it for the bits with the Watchmen. The Supermen Theory, the Superhuman Arms Race, the bits touching on the altered DCU, history, the golden age, and motherfucking Saturn Girl finally escaping Arkham is why I'm reading this series with glee. The Nathaniel Dusk character being used as a black and white film era detective are a good read too and one helluva throwback.

The only thing I'm interested in knowing is the identity Doc M assumed during his time in the DCU, if it was anything to note like an existing hero or villain.

The Bat-penis should've just been in this series. Then people wouldn't have been as shocked.

Besides bleeding their stupid fanboys wallets dry. Does thing even have a narrative point to it? Or is this just more "dark and gritty" angst porn for Didiot to wank to?

You will believe a man can suck his own dick when reading Johns tripe anymore. This is just worthless wank material at this stage. Johns is wanking at how clever and great he thinks he is, Didiot is wanking because it fulfills his "dark and gritty" angst fetish. And Johns' fanboys wanking to this with the knowledge that Johns is wanking to this.

Yes. It's changing the DC landscape in one story without two dozen tie ins and a couple minis.

You think way too much about other men wanking it.

I read the latest issue, as well as the rest of the series, and THIS is the issue I've been waiting for. The Supermen Theory takes center stage as Superman is finally brought into the story. I think it'll be easier to explain the issue in bullet points....

                              * Superman is brought in after his boss Perry White wants a story. The story being Firestorm acting reckless and attacking the Russian metas in the Peoples' Heroes.

                              * Something is messing with Firestorm's powers and he falls to the streets and is attacked by civilians. When his powers kick back on, in an explosion he turns the crowd into glass.

                              * Superman looks for Firestorm in Khandaq, as Black Adam has offered sanctuary to metahumans. After a conversation with Adam Superman finds Firestorm using everything he's got trying to turn a glass statue of a boy back to his flesh and bones self.

                              * With a pep talk from Supes he's finally able to do it. Superman claims they can make things right and revert the dozens/hundreds of people back to normal.

                              * After it seems like Russia is ready for war Superman makes an appearance to calm the situation. Phozar claims Ronnie Raymond is a government pawn.

                              * Batman contacts Supes using a special frequency trying to get him to stop talking. Batman knows the world will think Superman's picking sides.

                              * When Ronnie shows up with the kid who he reverted back to normal the military takes a shot. Superman jumps in the way for the kid's sake but then bullets shatter several of the civilians turned into glass Firestorm was going to save.

                              * Ronnie loses control again and............. it looks like I was right about who Doc Manhattan was impersonating. Batman, still trying to contact Superman claims.... "that's NOT Firestorm!" Ronnie's other half is likely the Doc disguising himself, so far we haven't heard much about/from Prof. Stein.

                              * Lois Lane opens a package she got at the beginning of the issue. Its a memory stick she places in her laptop with..... A PICTURE OF THE JSA!!! Somebody has proof they existed... but who?

                              ______________________________

I'm not the biggest Johns fan. I enjoyed most of his JSA books, his run on Hawkman, as well as his Aquaman, and his GL wasn't bad in the beginning... however I don't think his JL run was that great and him constantly pushing Stargirl simply because he based her in part on his dead sister is kinda messed up. I'm skeptical about his Shazam series, but that's mostly because of the super-PC Shazam Family they're pushing. This series though.... I think is some of his best work to date.

Wow that last panel, I was taken back a bit, had to re-read it a few times. Certainly not as good as the original Watchmen, never expected it to be, but I think there is some solid story telling there, I am certainly curious how it all will tie together at the end.
