Bruce: "He stinks, doesn't he son?"
Damian: "Exactly why we should knock them out instead of your approach to scare the shit out of them, father."

ARTIST CHRIS BURNHAM ON BATMAN INCORPORATED“Oh, man, I am so excited for this book to come out! Grant and I have put our all into making this the best reading experience possible. We're trying to do away with the widescreen movie-wannabe comics of the last ten or fifteen years and make the comicbookiest comics we're capable of. Breaking borders, impossible perspectives, intricate panel interplay, sound effects, speed lines, splash pages, and some stuff that I'm not quite sure how to put into words. Words are Grant's department, anyway!
We're throwing everything we can think of at the wall and I'm pretty sure most of it's sticking. It's exciting, dramatic, funny, violent, deadly serious, utterly ridiculous, and, hopefully, moving. We're doing our darnedest to dress the entirety of human experience up in tights for 20 pages a month and punch it right in the teeth.”

ARTIST DAVID FINCH ON BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT“Gregg Hurwitz coming on to BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT is a total game changer for this book. His stories are vicious, cruel and dark, but they are also incredibly humane and insightful and well written. I don't think that I need to tell Gregg Hurwitz fans how great a writer he is, but for those comic book readers who have not had the chance to experience his work, it's going to be a big surprise and a hell of a ride. The Dark Knight has gone through a few changes in its short run, but Gregg brings the focus and vision to the book that it desperately needed. We are going to be telling stories that will change people’s perceptions about some of Batman's villains forever. BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT is going to devote itself to exploring the interconnecting psychology of Batman and his craziest villains. If you loved Gregg's PENGUIN: PAIN AND PREJUDICE then you are going to love what we are doing in DARK KNIGHT."

ARTIST TRAVEL FOREMAN ON BIRDS OF PREY“I'm having a tremendous time taking on the BIRDS OF PREY characters. Its so rare that I get to draw a Superhero book that I've forgotten how great it is to draw capes and costumes. This is a bittersweet situation because Jesus Saiz was doing such pitch-perfect work on the book, but I hope people will enjoy my work on these issues.”

This past weeks issue of Batman: The Dark Knight was a one shot written by Joe Harris instead Paul Jenkins as solicited so I picked it up on a whim. It was a pretty average/solid issue nothing special at all but compared to the crap we got before it was downright Eisner worthy. Still on the fence on whether I'll be picking up the Winick issue next month, he's a rather hit or miss writer with me and the Night of Owls really isn't a draw at all.

Preview: Batwing #9
I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.
