  • Joker (2019)

I will not buy this movie when it comes out.
I will never willingly watch this again.
It was goddamn disturbing and I want to forget it.

    • I was told today a coworker has seen it but noted that it was very disturbing, and that people in the audience actually left during viewing. I asked the guy who told me if there was any animal cruelty in it, but he didn't know.

I won't be able to see it in theaters, but I do want to see it at some point.

No, no animal cruelty, thank the good lord. I would be hospitalized right now if there was.

          • The Werewolf (1956)

"You think he still wants to live after what he's become? It would be an act of charity."

Re-watched this taped from the Svengoolie show with the fam.

            Under the Skin (2013)

            "People wind me up.
            -How?
            They're ignorant."

Pretty good, though dark and ambiguous.

You probably won't like it if you can't tolerate Kevin Hart. Overall I thought the movie was decent to pretty good. Hart and Cranston had great chemistry. The humor balances out some of the depressing and dramatic scenes. I kind of want to see the original french film this was a remake of.

So the mail/Netflix has been slow to arrive this week, and I didn't grab anything before leaving for my dad's. I was going to watch Target Earth (1954) free on YouTube with him, but he turned on Amazon Prime and we scrolled through things, deciding to watch the first hour of the Western musical. It's actually somewhat entertaining, if somewhat bizarre. We'll have to pick it up later on so I can give a proper review.

                          • Halloween (2018)

                            "Evil is real."

                            Monster Squad (1987)

"This case is too hard, man, let's be firemen instead."

Invasion of the Bee Girls (1973)

"You're the geneticist, aren't you? Can you cross a man and a horse?"

This is a great example of exploitation cinema. It's funny and somehow appropriate that even when it becomes public that guys are dying during sex a whole bunch of them refuse to abstain even with strangers.

                            • Rewatched CREED and CREED II on the hospital's edited movie list. Good movies. It was kinda funny hearing all the replacement words like an old 1990's TV edit, and I do remember the final fight in the second one being a bit more brutal, but still.

Do good. Be well. Make happy.

I haven't watched an edited movie in years because I don't really watch TV, but the funniest I remember was seeing JFK on broadcast as a kid and there was a lot of "mother Fletcher"s mentioned.

Hope you're getting better/closer to discharge. I've spent a lot of time in hospitals myself.
