Not a good month for any of the titles. GL dips into the low 30Ks, which is not good for the flagship title.

GL: TLA takes a huge dive, but that is pretty much expected with any #2 issue. Not a hopeless cause by any means.

The worst spot this month is for Sinestro, dipping from almost 29k to 23k in one month. Not good at all.

    • Forgot to call out ST/GL (which actually outsold the main title by a fair amount). Fixed.

      • Thanks, I forgot as well!

That is disappointing since it's probably the best written of the batch.

          • Doomed is selling better than The Omega Men...dafuq is wrong with you people!

            • I'm surprised that Sinestro sold that well to begin with.

Yes, DC doesn't like GL dipping into the 30Ks. I expect that Geoff will soon come back for a fairly short, much ballyhooed run in which he retcons everything that's been done since he left.

              • Anyway I hate the whole idea of a "flagship title." (I also hate it that the WWE has an A show in Raw and a B show in Smackdown. What in the hell is the point of that?) Just put several comics out there and let the readers decide which one they care about the most. Don't tell them which one matters.

Sinestro is a pretty popular character, and there was clearly interest in the book. I'm surprised that you're surprised it sold pretty well. Besides it's not like blew-up or something. DC was pretty soft when it came to the marketing the book.

Anyway, yeah, not good numbers. I'm guessing Venditti will eventually exit the title, and I wouldn't be surprised if we got a major shake-up or something.

                  • At this rate I wonder if Sinestro will make it to the end of 2016. And if it doesn't, will DC replace it with another GL title? Or just run with two titles?

Doubtful considering Diane Nelson has capped Johns's monthly comic book work to 1-2 books. He's not leaving Justice League anytime soon and given that in his farewell letter for Superman he said his next project would be with Gary Frank I think it's safe bet that Shazam is next on his plate.

Sinestro is actually selling lower than Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern: New Guardians and Red Lanterns were when they were cancelled so I wouldn't be surprised to see it go any day now.

I'm kind of hoping that when Venditti leaves the main title DC can get Hickman to take over, bring some star power to the line.

Guess we were both wrong (though I was less wrong):
Nrama: Anything else you're working on that you'll be announcing soon?

Johns: No. I'm just working with Jay on this book and Gary Frank and I are working on Batman Earth One: Volume 3.

                            • Well, I'm sure nailing a freaking BATMAN movie script takes priority over returning to GL or finally giving Shazam an ongoing series.

Thinking about Shazam just makes me want DC to bring back those mini stories in the back of the books.

That still isn't official though is it?
